Vault 3 Security Enhancements
October 24, 2023

The latest version of Vault 3 has some important security enhancements. Password-protected documents are now encrypted with the AES algorithm, in CBC mode, with 256-bit keys.

Previous versions used AES in ECB mode, with 128-bit keys.

These updates apply to all versions of Vault 3, desktop and Android. When you update the desktop version of Vault 3, you will need to immediately update the Android version (or vice versa).

Download the latest version of Vault 3.

Note: Vault 3 now requires Java version 17 or later.

Of course Vault 3 is open-source!
